How to improve your landing page conversion rate – tools review

Let’s start from the very beginning. What is landing page? It’s a target page, which is displayed to the user or to the potential client when he clicks an ad. These can be sponsored links (AdWords), mailing/newsletter or just a banner ad placed in any service. Why is it worth using this solution? It is because, landing page assures you user’s attention and bigger conversion than common website. You’ll agree, but how to create such a landing page? Obviously you can subcontract it to the experts, unfortunately it’ll be very expensive (in most cases) . However, there are many tools in the market, which let you create it by yourself. What you need to do this, is some free time and good intensions.  Below, you’ll find a review of some solutions, which you can use even today.

Instapage

It’s an easy tool for beginners as well as for advanced marketers. The most important function of this tool is possibility of creating our individual landing page, within a few minutes, because we can use ready templates (and the choice of templates is really impressive). Most of them are built in accordance with RWD rules, what means, that the template will look well on computer as well as on mobile devices. Among templates you’ll find those which can be used for collecting contacts and also those thanks to which you’ll present your product’s best side. Instapage enables an integration with many tools, so you’ll integrate this tool easily with your CRM, e-mail marketing tool or statistics tool. After preparing your product website, you’ll have a possibility of publishing it within a service or on your WordPress or Facebook. This is really powerful tool, which will help you create a website quickly and thanks to this website you’ll gain your first sales leads.

Instapage

Launchrock

Launchrock is another tool that appeared in the market some time ago. The tool seems to be free at first sight, but after registering an account it turns out that this tool has also a paid version – 5$ per month. Launchrock is good for those businesses that don’t have too much money to spend it on marketing. We’ll create here a very simple landing page ( in a free version), which is responsive. Unfortunately this tool performs poorly in comparison to Instapage. In Launchrock there is no possibility of integration and publishing on WordPress or Facebook. We can connect our individual domain to the website, only in paid version. The other ‘minus’ is also the fact that in a free version we’ll be forced to display information that our website was created thanks to Launchrock.

Pluses and minuses
[icon size=”small” name=”e-check”] free version
[icon size=”small” name=”e-check”] responsive look
[icon size=”small” name=”e-check”] statistics
[icon size=”small” name=”e-check”] possibility of HTML edition in paid version
[icon size=”small” name=”e-cancel”] not many templates
[icon size=”small” name=”e-cancel”] no integration with other tools
[icon size=”small” name=”e-cancel”] launchrock branding (only in free version)

Price: 0 or 5$ per month

Launchrock

Unbounce

Unbounce is another tool, which is available in the market. As for its possibilities and functionalities it’s very similar to Instapage. However, Unbounce has (unfortunately) many restrictions, connected with users movement, in every available plan. What’s more, if you want to use 30 day trial version, you have to give some data from your credit card. Apart from these nuisances, Unbounce works quite properly and intuitively. An interesting additional item to this tool, which will surely be useful for bigger agencies, is clients and campaigns management. Thanks to that you have a possibility of conveying the access to statistics and other important information directly to your client (who can display it in real time).

Pluses and minuses
[icon size=”small” name=”e-check”] easy and intuitive panel for creating landing page
[icon size=”small” name=”e-check”] responsive design (a lot of templates)
[icon size=”small” name=”e-check”] possibility of integration
[icon size=”small” name=”e-check”] possibility of carrying out A/B testing
[icon size=”small” name=”e-check”] panel with statistics
[icon size=”small” name=”e-check”] clients and campaigns management
[icon size=”small” name=”e-cancel”] 30-day trial version (you have to give some data from your credit card)
[icon size=”small” name=”e-cancel”] limits of visists depending on plans

Price: 49$ | 99$ | 199$ | 499$ per month
(30-day trial version)

Kickofflabs

The tool that is also worth mentioning is Kickofflabs. Kickofflabs is used for creating landing page, e-mail marketing and messages in different moments while a potential client is on your website. You’ll find here 60 ready, different and responsive templates in the database. The number of templates is smaller than in Unbounce or Intapage, but the templates look quite well. We also have here a possibility of A/B testing and creating special messages for user after carrying out a particular activity. What’s interesting, Kickofflabs enables an integration with its competition and shares widgets to connect the tool with Unbounce as well as  Instapage.

Pluses and minuses
[icon size=”small” name=”e-check”] 30-day trial version
[icon size=”small” name=”e-check”] responsive design
[icon size=”small” name=”e-check”] easy and intuitive panel for creating landing page
[icon size=”small” name=”e-check”] possibility of integration (also with your competition)
[icon size=”small” name=”e-check”] additional tools
[icon size=”small” name=”e-cancel”] different limits depending on package

Price: 39$ | 69$ | 149$
(30-day trial version)

Kickofflabs

The alternative, for those mentioned above tools, is Wordrpess. You’ll find many useful plugins in a repository, thanks to which you can create landing page almost for free. Of course, in this case, you have to own your server and domain to install WordPress. All you have to do is to install the following plugins: Landing Pages, Contact Form 7 and Google Analytics. LP plugin for WordPress enables building product websites to get contacts and carry out A/B testing. Choose a nice template and get to work. Unfortunately I would recommend this solution to more advanced users, because it’ll require more work than when you choose ready solutions.
